Prior to the launch of a new product indication in diabetic macular edema, our healthcare client wanted to gain insight into the DME patient journey from the patient and HCP perspectives to gain a solid understanding of the existing market dynamics and identify areas of opportunity.

In order to obtain 360 insights and a holistic understanding of the market dynamics at play, we conducted quantitative online surveys among all key audiences, including diabetes patients (including DME sufferers), general ophthalmologists, retina specialists and optometrists.

The research findings shed light on diagnosis and referral patterns, symptoms and testing, treatment awareness, and educational needs to inform pre-launch strategy.
